Rates Stay At 0% And Other Key Takeaways
Dear Friends,
Chairman of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell held a press conference this afternoon updating us on the state of the economy. If you missed it, you can find a recap of the key takeaways in my latest Forbes piece below.
As expected, we are in for a tough road ahead, with a second consecutive quarter of contracting GDP, record-high unemployment and 0% interest rates.
My favorite part of the speech today was Jerome Powell standing with the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
“I speak for my colleagues throughout the Federal Reserve system when I say that there is no place at the Federal Reserve for racism, and there should be no place for it in our society. Everyone deserves the opportunity to participate fully in our society and in our economy.”
